One Fish

I noodled this fish after seeing one carved by A.J. Lutter on the Carving Post. The fish sold at Shakori Hills VERY quickly, and I was encouraged to try another.

Two Fish

This fish sold at Sanford Pottery Festival, again quickly.  More to come.  New finish--much easier than paint.

Forever Flowerbox

Pine, oil stain.  about 30" tall, 8" deep.

Polar Bear

Polar Bear was carved as a donation for the NC Zoo-to-Do 2003 fundraising auction, in celebration of the zoo's new polar bear exhibit.  He is about 4' tall.

Born on the 4th

I started carving this bird on the 4th of July and HA! thought I would finish that day.  He holds a 5' flagpole.

Frog

Frog is keeping a collector's grandchildren company in Sanford, NC. Lots of people ask for frogs and I will have to carve another soon.

Wood Spirit

An early attempt to carve faces with a chainsaw, he looks like a person, just not the person he was supposed to look like

 Guardian of the Roses

Bear on a Ball Red wing fantasy heron blue angel
Guardian of the Roses

Born on a cathedral and transplanted to Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, where the gargoyle that inspired this beast can be found.  He'll keep evil spirits out of the garden for sure, but we make no promises about his effectiveness against evil black spot.

48", 130#

Bear on a Ball

My first bear. Major changes since. He's been retired and now performs in the driveway.

36", 40#

pine, NFS.

Red-Wing Fantasy

The heron-inspired wading bird took flight from the top-most section of the first tree I carved; the wings were branch stubs.  His back and chest are teal while his wings run to red with copper flecks.
